• The Rotary Club of Rowville Lysterfield has supported this project for 12 years with yearly financial donations and support for their fundraising dinners each year.
• Assistance was given by an experienced Club member in the application process for a grant from the Rotary Club of Balwyn Centenary Grants program, which was successful. This grant, with some further funds provided by Rowville Lysterfield Rotary Club, has enabled an extensive eye health project to occur. This will ultimately involve 25 camps where 3000 people will be screened for eye problems such as cataracts and errors of refraction. Cataract surgery will be offered free of charge to some of the patients and around 600 pairs of spectacles will be distributed. In addition, an awareness campaign designed to reach 30,000 people will encourage people to seek help early when eye problems emerge.
