At last week’s meeting we enjoyed the company of Rebecca Redfern, Secretary of the All Abilities Tennis Program. The program is administered by the Ferntree Gully Tennis club and coached by Mark Brodam from Prestige Tennis Academy, along with a group of dedicated volunteers.
In 2023 the program was awarded the ‘Most Outstanding Inclusion Initiative’ at the 2023 Victorian Tennis Awards’ in recognition of the exceptional program. What an achievement!
The program runs every Thursday afternoon between 5.30pm - 6.30pm during school terms rain, hail or shine and continuity is important for ‘all abilities’ players.
All new participants receive free equipment packs including racquets, shirts and caps thanks to our sponsors. The program is suitable for children ages 5+ and adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
No previous experience is required to join in the fun. The cost for a nine week term is $135 or $20 per session for casual participants.
As we approach the Christmas season, it is timely to think about those who will not have the Christmas that we will have and reach out to them with some Christmas cheer.
Please bring your donated goods to our meeting on the 3rd December 2024 as we will be packing the hampers the same night at Tosaria's!
