The recent Knox Art Show, at the Churchill Waverley Golf and Bowls Club, gained much praise from the viewers for the high quality of the work on show, and on this account alone, the Show has to be deemed a great success. The Opening Night, a special night as it was the 50th show, was well attended by a mix of sponsors, Rotarians, artists, family and friends. The Cocktail party food was delicious and the background music provided by guitarist Alejandro Aguanta created a great atmosphere. A highlight of the opening night was the announcement of the Award winners and the detailed comments from the judges made their decision-making process very transparent. One innovation of this show is that has been virtual as well as physical, with the virtual show running until Sunday 17th.
The process of organising the Art Show is a lengthy one, with a very heavy commitment needed from the time of setting up to the final dismantling of the show. The effort that has made this show possible has come from a collaboration from three Rotary Clubs, Bayswater, Rowville-Lysterfield and Knox, with a few strong young Rotaractors also helping out with heavy lifting.
When the final profit is determined, the causes that will be the recipients will be:
Simple Steps Solutions,
Rotary End Polio Now,
Share Space Inc,
Tamminya House.
We look forward to another exciting Art Show around the same time next year. Stay tuned!
