From the President to the Secretary, each role plays a crucial part in shaping our club’s success. Board Members

President

Jenny Moran

The President upholds the values of Rotary International and leads the Club by working with the Board to set the Club Goals and Budget, to ensure that projects and activities are designed to be impactful and engaging and to ensure that all spending represents value for money. They celebrate the efforts of all club members and work to make the Club culture positive and welcoming

Vice President

The Vice-President is an experienced Rotarian and therefore the role is to support the President and provide advice and mentoring if required. In the President’s absence the Vice -President would step-up and chair the Board meetings or assist in the regular Club meetings. The Vice-President, as an experienced Rotarian, is a role model for other Club members.

Secretary

The role of the Secretary is to maintain the administration records for the Club. This includes writing and distributing the Board Meeting Agendas & Minutes, sending and receiving correspondence and maintaining the Membership records on Club Runner, Rotary International and District 9815 websites. The Secretary also assists the President with updating the Annual Plan and ensuring the Club operates as a Club of Excellence.

Treasurer

Neil White

The Treasurer is responsible for the daily financial activity of the club including recording all transactions on an accounting software package; raising all invoices; overseeing all receipts; paying all bills; reconciling the bank accounts. Preparing the annual budgets with the incoming president is a key function, which includes establishing the annual membership fees. For each monthly Board meeting the Treasurer prepares and circulates financial reports.

Past President

Carol Constantine

Once the year as President is finished, the Past President remains on the Board to provide advice in the transition to a new President and remains active in supporting the Club ethos, programs and activities. The Past President may look to utilize their skills and experience by taking on a role beyond Club level, with the District or Rotary Community Group.

President Elect

Bob Morris

The role of the President Elect is to gain sound insight into the functioning of Rotary by attending training sessions, while working with the President to ensure continuity in the program. They will assist the President in goal setting and tracking the performance of those goals. They will appoint Board members and Committee Chairs for the following year and work to inspire members and promote Rotary in the community.

Community Chairs

Foundation

Neil White

The Rotary International Foundation is a charity that fundraises for Rotary programs worldwide. The Foundation manages investment funds of more than US $1 billion.
The responsibilities of the Foundation Chair include ensuring the Club achieves its donation goals and encouraging members to consider personal giving. They ensure that members are kept informed on the achievements and functions of the Rotary Foundation.

Community

Marg Vesey

The role of the Community Chair is to work with the Club members to identify a need in the Community, to devise a project to address that need and to guide the implementation of that project. Such projects may be in support of other organisations or may originate with the Club. This support may be provision of funds or material items or participation in community events.

Membership

Bob Morris

The Membership Chair is responsible for membership functions such as attracting new members from diverse demographics, engaging all members to enhance their Club experience and helping build member retention. They ensure that new members are well informed about Rotary International and the activities of the club by appointing a mentor. They assist with preparing Club literature such as brochures and new member information packs.

Vocational

John Williams

The role of the Vocational Chair is to promote the worthiness of all vocations and promote the ideal of high ethical standards in all business dealings. This may include organising vocational visits to interesting workplaces or inviting speakers to a meeting from diverse vocations. The Vocational Chair will encourage club members to contribute their individual skills and expertise to address societal needs.

Youth

Max Williams

The Chair of Youth Services is responsible for establishing and supporting Rotary's offering of services to help young people to learn and grow to become leaders of tomorrow. Youth Services are extensive and include Earlyact (Primary School), Interact (Secondary School), and Rotaract (young adults) clubs, School Speech Competitions, Model United Nations, the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) seminar and other initiatives.

International

Alan Lunghusen

The Chair of International Service guides the club to find international projects of merit to ensure that assistance offered to overseas communities is appropriate and desired by the target community and that the project leads to sustainable benefit for this community. This role may encompass doing a Community Needs Analysis, maintaining communication with the overseas community and sourcing and submitting grant applications.

Enviromental

Arshad Samsudeen

This role involves building awareness of the need to protect the environment, which is one of the seven Rotary Areas of Focus. This may be achieved through communication with other environmental groups to support their projects, supporting National events such as Clean-up Australia Day, encouraging members to attend tree planting days or through providing information on aspects such as recycling.
